The Katama Airfield is a transportation resource situated on Martha's Vineyard Island. It is conveniently located in Edgartown, approximately ten miles from Oak Bluffs and the Wood's Hole, Falmouth and Hyannis ferry services. The airfield is situated next to beautiful South Beach, providing beach goers with parking and an outdoor shower. Katama provides soft and easy landings for single and multi-engine aircraft, with runways designed to facilitate safe landings in varying wind directions.Facilities: The airfield has three runways, all of which are turf and, to provide pilots with safe approaches during variable wind and weather. Runway 17/35 is 2600 feet long and 100 feet wide. The second, Runway 3/21 is 4000 feet long and 150 feet wide. The third, 6/24 is 2700 feet long and 50 feet wide. VFR flight is available at Katama year-round.Services: The Airport can accommodate a variety of aircraft including 421's, Aerostars, Aero Commanders, light twins, all single engines, ex-military, antique, homebuilts and helicopters. The Airfield Management acts as the Fixed Base Operator and provides daylight services for fueling, landing, parking, and tie-downs.
